Libreyard

About

Libreyard is run by Hugo Klepsch through Bay Three Software Inc., with no employees and no investors.

It exists to make open source software easy to use without running it yourself, and easy to take back. It runs upstream releases unmodified, keeps your data in a form you can run elsewhere, and holds as little as it can. Vaultwarden comes first because the host cannot read it and a household's vault is small. Other applications may follow.

The price is meant to cover the host, Stripe's fees and one person's time.

One person

Support is by email, from the person who built the service. Response time: two business days. Sign-up, billing, downloads, cancelling and deleting are all in the portal, so you never have to wait for anyone to get your data.

Outages may last longer than at a company with staff on call. Your clients keep an offline copy of the vault in the meantime.

Continuity

There is no second person who could keep the service running, and no reserve to fund a long notice period. Until there is, plan as if Libreyard could stop without warning, and keep a recent archive. If Libreyard disappears says how to carry on.
