Refund policy
Last updated 25 October 2026. This policy is part of the terms of service. Version française.
The policy
- Within 30 days of a payment, first or renewal: a full refund if you ask, with no reason needed. After a free trial, the first payment is the one made when the trial ends, or when you chose to pay early.
- After 30 days: no refund for the rest of the year. Cancelling stops the next renewal, and your vault runs until the end of the year you paid for.
- If we end the service, or end your subscription for any reason other than non-payment or a breach of the terms: a refund of the unused part of your year.
- If we take away something a vault includes, or change the terms in a way you do not accept, and you cancel because of it: a refund of the unused part of your year.
- If your vault was unusable for more than 7 days in a row through our fault: you can cancel and receive a refund of the unused part of your year.
- A free trial costs nothing, so there is nothing to refund.
A refund includes the tax charged with the payment. "The unused part of your year" is the price paid, divided by the days of the year, times the days left.
How to ask
Write to support@baythreesoftware.ca from your account's email address, and name the vault. We refund through Stripe to the card that paid, within 5 business days of your request. Your bank may take a few more days to show it. There is no refund button in the portal.
Cancelling, deleting a vault and closing your account do not refund anything by themselves. Within the 30 days you can still ask for a refund after doing any of them, including after your account is closed: write from the address the account had.
What a refund does
A full refund ends the subscription. The vault is stopped and its data is kept for 30 days, during which you can download it. Download it before you ask if you want to be sure.
Your legal rights
This policy adds to any right to cancel or to a refund that consumer law gives you; it does not replace it. For example, consumers in the European Union and the United Kingdom have 14 days to withdraw from an online contract, and the 30 days here are longer than that. Consumers in Ontario may cancel an internet agreement within 7 days of receiving a copy of it if the required information about us and the agreement was not disclosed.
